The identity of the 14 teams competing in next month's play-offs is now known : UEFA Under-21 Championship Qualifying Round-Up: Italy, England & Spain Progress To Play-Offs
With seven spots already claimed in next month's UEFA U-21 Championship play-offs, the remaining seven were snapped up tonight, and France, Portugal and holders Germany were the high-profile casualties as Italy, England and Spain all went through thanks to wins this evening.
A Danny Welbeck-inspired England side made it through as one of the best second-placed teams after a 3-0 win over Lithuania, while Spain's 1-0 triumph in Poland saw them safely through. Italy gained a play-off spot thanks to Mattia Mustacchio's early winner against Wales.
The group-by-group rundown is below, with the teams qualifying from each group signified in bold in the standings.

Italy qualified for the play-offs at the expense of Wales, thanks to this last-day victory. The Azzurrini grabbed the lead in the 14th minute when Varese loanee Mattia Mustacchio raced onto a throughball and kept his head to slot under the 'keeper and inside the far post. It was an early fillip for Pierluigi Casiraghi's men, but they went on to waste some decent opportunities to make their progression safe. Stefano Okaka, Mattia Destro and Guido Marilungo all had good chances, but Vito Mannone was also vital as Wales caused some late scares.
